The Bariatric Surgery Course aims to facilitate the understanding of a complex condition like

obesity, clarify its potential surgical treatments, and its indications based on the recent Italian-
SICOB guidelines. The live section of the course includes a ‘see’ part in which learners will

observe live bariatric surgeries (sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, single
anastomosis gastric bypass, and duodeno-ileal bypass with sleeve) and a ‘do’ part in which
they can practice the key aspects of surgical procedures on an animal model.
This is an opportunity to meet some of the leading experts in the field and test their technical
skills in advanced laparoscopic bariatric surgery.
